We needed a small freezer to put in mother's nursing home room and the EdgeStar 1.5 cu. ft. freezer is perfect. It looks nice, takes up very little space, and keeps mother's ice cream frozen until she decides to indulge.

...both product and service, which is very rare these days. Product seems very well made. I'm using it in the garage to see how it performs and so far so very good. When the weather gets warmer I plan to move it outside so I can measure the electricity usage and its performance for which it was designed. Outside and protected from the elements is its final destination for use as I am building a teardrop camper. FYI, I was comparing this to a similarly sized Avanti and Danby however after finding this EdgeStar the comparisons stopped. This EdgeStar can be either a freezer or a refrigerator and it has a locking door.

We bought for our tractor trailor truck while on the road as freezer and it is great - also bought another brand for frig but wish we just bought two of these as can be used as frig or freezer. Only had a few weeks but so far awesome.

Excellent product, came well packaged. Unhappy with choice of FedEx for delivery, did not arrive as promised.
Storage capacity is a bit less than advertised as the interior is not square. The bottom half is partially taken up with space for the mechanism. The interior dimensions shown are only for the top half, not the entire freezer. There is however adequate room for 3 or 4 pizzas and bags of frozen food. Works well and holds temp well.
We installed it in an RV storage compartment.

Best Uses: Small Kitchen
I had been wanting to buy a small freezer to use because I live in an apartment which has a refrigerator with a quite small freezer. This freezer is perfect and stays at the temperature I select. When I shop I can buy a few more frozen foods without wondering if there's room to store them in it. I also have an ice cream freezer, so now I can put the freezer bowls in my EdgeStar freezer for 24 hours, then make 2 kinds of ice cream and have room to store both containers of the finished ice cream in my new freezer! I am happy with my purchase!

First of all, I have only had this product for one month. I think a review in one year would be of more value. But so far it is perfect. It cooled down to zero degrees very quickly. It does make a low rumble for a second or two when the compressor starts and again when it shuts down. Very minor and I usually don't even notice it. Other than that it is completely quiet. It is a good size for my kitchen space and it does a good job of maximizing it's limited space inside. It has one shelf that is easily removable. Note that 1.5 cu.ft. is not a lot of space but I use it to suppliment my refridgerator freezer. It was double boxed for shipping and came completely undamaged, not even a scratch. So far I am completely satisfied.

This is a great product for small use, I need it to store small amounts of frozen food for multiple days at fairs of course I have access to electric but its small size and weight makes it easy to transport to location and it does not take up a lot of space. I am using it now just for refrigeration for small amounts of food in my animal care facility in a location in my basement it fits great in limited space. Great buy for a great price.

We purchased this unit for our RV and so far it has performed excellently. It freezes very quickly, is extremely quiet, and offers good storage capacity for its compact size. But where we've been most pleased is with the customer service... the first unit we received was severely damaged in transit, however the representative I spoke to on the phone issued a call tag to pick up the damaged unit while immediately shipping out a replacement that was received within 48 hours. The replacement has been perfect. Thank you for the superior service.

I can't remember the last time that's happened. Really. In my old freezer, mango sorbet that I bought 2 days prior would get tossed because of freezer burn. Ditto frozen veggies. So I bought this and have never been more pleased. It's really easy to use, straightforward, and I've double-checked the temperatures with my own freezer thermometer and they are dead on. I'm keeping frozen food in it now, and will use it as a back-up freezer at my new place. At this price, I might even buy another just to use as a back-up fridge. Very, very handy and not at all like some of the junk you find at the big box stores.

In Southern New England, it became impossible to find "clear" ice in the boating environment.. The "cloudy" ice which is prevalent at virtually all marinas lasts about 20% as long as clear ice. We began using this freezer during April, 2011. We make three clear blocks daily. We recycle water out of the cooler back into the freezer daily. While the freezer is AC, we have an inverter on board as well as a genset. And the freezer provides some capacity for food as well. It operated flawlessly for 5 months and counting.
