I purchased this for my personal Man Cave which is a converted office out back of my house which is about 12' by 18' which I use for Texas Holdem games with all my buddies....

Best Uses: Bed Room
This combination AC/Heat unit is perfect for one room. It is efficient and does a great job of cooling. The setup and its use are very simple and easy. I would recommend this product to anyone. Additionally, it is priced way below its nearest competitor.

This is a great unit for a smaller space, typically 350-500 sq. ft., 7000-10000 BTU. With that said this unit is extremely efficient and produces cold air immediately and the noise is at a comfortable level. Not only is this unit highly efficient but comes with some great added features:
-24 Hour Start/Stop Timer: Which helps to cool a room prior to use.
-Sleep Feature: helps to keep you cool through the night but does not waste as much energy as it allows the temperature to increase in slight increments and decrease before waking up.
-Energy Saver Mode: Which allows the fan to help circulate cool air while allowing the compressor to rest, the room temperature is maintained until the compressor comes back on.
It is also can be used as a heater by method of heat strip. The best benefit of the heat strip vs. heat pump is the heat is instant, growing up in the North East there is nothing you want more than instant heat! When the weather goes below 50 degrees a heat pump-type method cannot function properly as there is no heat in the air to extract where a heat strip can operate properly in any temperature.

This air conditioner is perfect for smaller bedrooms of about 250 square feet. The cooling is quite powerful, and I love that it can be used in the winter as well to heat just one room, instead of having to use the furnace to heat the entire house. The unit is relatively quiet, especially compared to other models, and was very easy to install. I highly recommend this unit!

am rather dissappointed in the fact that it does not blow really cold air, just blows cooler air. could the fact that I am having to use it with an extension cord make a difference, and what type of cord would you recommend?
